Nikolaus Schimdt

Great annual report designed by Nikolaus Schmidt. Looks really similar to the first Unit Editions newspaper but definitely works in this application as well. The whole thing works really well in two colours and I think that the simple linear illustration creates a creative and fun feel to a document that could otherwise be quite bland, but still keeping a very professional aesthetic look. I also like the combination of layouts with left aligned and centered sections of text. Almost similar to certain high end fashion magazines that are coming out at the minute.

Studio Makgill/Anthony Burrill

Anthony Burrill and Studio Makgill have collaborated here to create the notebooks that are being sold at Lollipop Shoppe, which Studio Makgill recently did the new identity for. The geometric illustration works really well and fits the space on the front, as well as complimenting the identity really effectively. I think this project has worked really well as a collaboration as both parties touch can really be seen in the result. The bold and geometric shapes are very telling of anthony Burrill and the delicacy  and precision of the finish is characteristic of Studio Makgills other work.

PNTS

Absolutely beautiful packaging and poster work here for RIEN by PNTS. A lot of people have used the astronomical aesthetic over the last year to a varying degree of effectiveness but I think this is an example of it done extremely well, the constellation shapes and the pastel coloured stock complement with sheer black and white sections really well and the layout of the poster works really well with the long thin section running down the center the guides you down to the logo and text.
